They use American ingredients (almost exclusively--with few exceptions). These exceptions are listed on their Website in the link above. This is not a specific endorsement in exclusion of many other holistic companies making quality foods. This is merely a disclosure about the food we have chosen to use for our Weimaraners. We are all concerned about the food sources for our beloved family. As always, we recommend you read the label and know what you are feeding. - All puppies receive a comprehensive Veterinarian Wellness Check prior to departure to their "forever home."
- We breed for All-around quality! Nearly every one of our Weimaraners have PennHip Ratings or OFA certified hips prior to their first mating as well as other health checks to ensure they are healthy. Periodic Vet wellness checks are also part of our process.
- Puppies are raised inside our home and initially in our own bedroom to afford 24 hour monitoring for the critical first 4 weeks of the puppies lives--often they remain there for up to 5 weeks.
- We temperament test each puppy individually and match them to the best possible home. If there is not an appropriate home we will not place the puppy until we have one. The best home for the pup is also the best pup we have for
- the home.

- All puppies come with a Limited AKC Registration that may be upgraded to a Full AKC Registration once your pup has earned a Hunt or Field Title--and you complete the breeder's application to our satisfaction explaining your experience and plan. (Sorry but if you are just looking for breeding rights we need to know that your breeding ethics are part of the Weimaraner solution, etc.)
- We raise Gray, Silver Gray, or Blue smooth coated Weimaraners.
- We have an application process (to ensure each puppy is placed in a committed and loving home that understands the breed).

Note: Cliff & Shela Nielsen (OwyheeStar Weimaraners) reserves the right to refund deposits prior to puppy pick-up or delivery. Although, this is not the norm it is an option that they do reserve. Placing a puppy in a home where the Nielsen's have peace about the placement is primary to the OwyheeStar Process.
Breeder's Comments: In a decade we have found it necessary to do this only twice so you need not fear we will change our minds and not place the puppy with you. This is more of a safeguard in the event that we receive additional information indicating that the puppy would be at risk ...etc. We simply cannot take chances with the placing of our puppies. We hope you can understand.
